چکیده
The development of antimicrobial resistance in foodborne pathogens is a growing public health concern. This study was undertaken to determine the susceptibility Salmonella enterica subspecies isolated from Australian commercial egg layer industry. S. (n=307) flock environments (2015–2018) were obtained reference, research and State Government laboratories six states. All isolates serotyped. Antimicrobial testing (AST) for 16 agents performed by broth microdilution. genes sequence types (STs) identified significant whole genome sequencing (WGS). Three main serotypes detected, Typhimurium (n=61, 19.9%), Senftenburg (n=45, 14.7%) Agona (n=37, 12.1%). AST showed 293/307 (95.4%) susceptible all tested amoxicillin-clavulanate, azithromycin, ceftiofur, ceftriaxone, ciprofloxacin, colistin, florfenicol, gentamicin, kanamycin trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole. Low levels non-susceptibility observed streptomycin (2.3%, n=7), sulfisoxazole (2.0%, n=6), chloramphenicol (1.3%, n=4) tetracycline (1.0%, n=3). Very low ampicillin (2/307; 0.7%) cefoxitin 0.7%). Two (S. Havana Montevideo), exhibited multidrug-resistant phenotypes streptomycin, possessed corresponding (aadA4, aac(6?)-Iaa, sul1, tetB). One isolate resistant tetracycline, both tetA blaTEM-1B. WGS also these as belonging ST4 ST578 Havana) ST19 Typhimurium). absence highest priority critically important antimicrobials well extremely level AMR generally among likely reflect Australia's conservative registration policy food-producing animals rates use within

Diversity of Antimicrobial Resistance Phenotypes in Salmonella Isolated from Commercial Poultry Farms
Salmonella remains the leading cause of foodborne illness in the United States, and the dissemination of drug-resistant Salmonellae through the food chain has important implications for treatment failure of salmonellosis. We investigated the ecology of Salmonella in integrated broiler production in order to understand the flow of antibiotic susceptible and resistant strains within this system. ...
متن کاملAntimicrobial resistance in Salmonella and Escherichia coli isolated from commercial shell eggs.
The development of antimicrobial resistance in bacteria has become a global problem. Isolates of Salmonella and Escherichia coli recovered from shell egg samples, collected at 3 commercial plants, were analyzed for resistance to 16 antimicrobial agents (n=990). Eggs were sampled by rinsing in a saline solution. Pooled samples were preenriched in buffered peptone water and then selectively isola...

The study was designed to investigate the prevalence and antibiotic resistance profile of Salmonella spp. in broiler chicken meat sold in the Karachi City-Pakistan. A total of 160 meat samples were randomly collected from different retail markets and examined for the presence of various species of salmonella. The prevalence rate recorded was 48.75%. Different species of salmonella detected were...

متن کاملAntimicrobial resistance pattern of citrobacter species isolated from food outbreaks
Background: Foodborne diseases and resistance to antimicrobial agents are two of the world's most widespread global issues. Also, the excessive use of antibiotics has led to the resistance of bacteria belonging to the Enterobacteriaceae family to antibiotics, especially in carbapenems. Citrobacter is an opportunistic bacterium that is resistant to antibiotics in the emerging bacteria and has ...
